Cannon Lane Primary School’s aim is to provide effective opportunities for all children. This is achieved by setting suitable learning challenges and responding to pupils’ diverse learning needs, and overcoming potential barriers to learning and assessment for individuals and groups of pupils.
Our school has an inclusive ethos with high expectations and sets suitable targets for all children. We have systems in place for early identification of barriers to learning and participation. We want all our children to enjoy school and feel safe.
Where a child is identified as having a special educational need, consultation with his/her parents and progress will be monitored. If it is more appropriate for outside agencies to be involved, such as Educational Psychologists or Speech Therapists, progress will be monitored.
We firmly believe in working closely with parents and at our school – no action is ever taken without consulting with the child’s parents.
